President's Message

Cultivating Connection, Championing Growth.

On behalf of the members of HOPSA USA-Canada, I warmly welcome you to our official website. It is my distinct honor to serve as President of this dynamic and purpose-driven alumnae association, which represents proud graduates of Holy Child School, Cape Coast and Takoradi living across the United States and Canada.

We are a blessed community — shaped by the values of faith, discipline, and love poured into us during our time at Holy Child School. We were nurtured by a legacy of excellence and sisterhood, and we carry that legacy still — across borders, generations, and life journeys.

This term, our theme is: "Cultivating Connection, Championing Growth." It is both a vision and a call to action — to strengthen bonds across generations, support our fellow HOPSANS, mentor the next, and build a future that reflects the strength of our legacy.

As the Bible reminds us, "To whom much is given, much is expected." We are grateful for the opportunities and values Holy Child School gave us, and we believe it is our joyful duty to give back — with purpose and pride.

If you are a HOPSAN living in the U.S. or Canada and are looking to reconnect, we warmly invite you to get involved. You belong here. Let's grow together — in sisterhood, in service, and in legacy.

Thank you for visiting our website. Stay connected. Stay engaged. Follow us on social media for updates on programs, events, and reunion activities.

Who We Are

HOPSA USA-CANADA is an association of Past Students of Holy Child School and Holy Child College from Ghana residing in the United States and Canada.

HOPSA USA-CANADA is part of the Holy Child Past Students Association (HOPSA) founded in 1973 in Ghana.

The dream for the formation of HOPSA USA-CANADA became a reality with an inaugural celebration on July 07, 2007. This memorable occasion took place in Willingboro, New Jersey, with over one hundred and fifty (150) past students in attendance from all over the United States of America and Canada as well as Ghana and the United Kingdom. Also in attendance were the then Headmistress of Holy Child School, Mrs. Veronica Minta Nyarku (of blessed memory) and some Rev. Sisters who had taught in Holy Child School and/or Holy Child College.

Holy Child Past Students, no matter where you find them, usually demonstrate the virtues of the "Catholic Christian Education" they received.

School Anthem

1. Thou art the light, the bright and morning star
In whom we ever live and move and are.
Thou art the key to treasures new and old
That turns the toil of every day to gold.
O Holy Child.
2. Thou art the living bread from God come down
To give thyself to men, Thou art the Crown.
The bud which blossomed forth from David's stem.
Teach us to love thee poor in Bethlehem.
O Holy Child.
3. Thou art the lamb of God oblation made,
When by thy Mother in the crib first laid.
Thou art the King, in whom our loyalty
Is proved by deeds, not words of fealty.
O Holy Child.
4. Thou art the way in which we learn to run
With ardour, till the Father's will be done.
Thou art the truth from wise and proud concealed,
In swaddling bands to little ones revealed.
O Holy Child.
5. Thou art the life which God's abundance gave,
Which never saves itself, which dies to save.
Thou art the vine and we the branches bear
Grapes ripe for sacrifice, thy cross to share.
O Holy Child.
6. Thou Alpha-Omega, the first and last
In whose eternal love our lives are passed.
Thou art the Christ, the living God's own Son.
Make us with thee in heart and spirit one.
O Holy Child
